Louise is qualified to massage children from birth to adulthood and beyond.
Children suffer anxieties in early childhood and when faced with school, these may intensify. Massage is relaxing and offers the opportunity for gentle conversations to happen.
I give 30 minute full body massages whilst parent or carer is present, so if you need to have a conversation, whilst your child is relaxed and comfortable, it’s sometimes a good time to have that conversation.

STORY MASSAGE BENEFITS:
There is also an educational element as Story Massage can be used to fit in with the national curriculum. Many children have learnt their numbers and letters, and elements of history, geography and nature through massage stories. Story Massage offers a way of learning and communicating through play and positive interaction. You can adapt your own massage stories from favourite stories and nursery rhymes, or have fun creating your own stories to reflect particular interests, activities or events.A simple and quick way of giving individual attention to a child. It makes them feel special.Story Massage offers children a channel for making sense of the world and expressing their difficult emotions.
Why might you book a massage for your child? Age 4-16years.
Some of the reasons families bring their children to see are massage for children;
- They attend gymnastics classes and would like to keep flexibility, core strength, boost circulation and soothe tired muscles so they can work more efficiently for the next class or compeition.
- They attend swimming classes and like that their muscles can be relaxed, lactic acid released, circulation boosted and they are less achy/tired afterwards.
- Reinforces a relaxing, routine based bed time.
- Massage is a non-intrusive therapy.
- Movements are safe and can be adapted to suit varying personalities and temperaments.
- Improved calmness and concentration (particularly helpful during exam or stressful situations for all ages.
- Increased self-confidence, self-awareness and self-esteem.
- Improved social skills.
- Increased engagement in activities (feeling fresh)
- Better communication. Use the massage to communicate.
And for parents? Giving a massage can:
Empowers you when giving them a tool you can use to interact with your children in a calm, non-stressful way. It is also a way for you to spend one to one time with your child thus reinforcing the bond between you both.
Coming to see me and prices:
The massage can be given over your child’s clothes, or using oil. Below I suggest the time for certain age groups, but this also depends on the reason why you’re bringing your child. Is it a treat once in a while, a digestive problem we’re seeing them regularly for benefits of good digestion following treatment, anxiety, etc.
I find it most helpful to have a chat and for me to gain an understanding of what benefits you’d like for your child, completing a medical and history consultation and then booking their first treatment.
