Turning breech, back to back, transverse baby

Helping to turn your breech, back to back, transverse baby

I have had real success in turning breech, back to back, transerse babies. The methods I use are non-invasive, gentle and comfortable to recieve in pregnancy.
I create the Opportunity, Space and Movement for a baby to be able to move into the best position. I’ve found often women can’t even tell (apart from a different shaped bump) if their baby has moved, but at their next midwifery or consultant or scan appointment, baby is in the desired position to allow the opprunity for a vaginal birth.

My first baby was breech my entire pregnancy. I didn’t know about rebozo at the time and i went into spontaneous labour at 37 weeks so had her surrounded by supportive, qualified staff vaginally at my local hospital. Some of the rescources i used are are Mary Cronk Hands Off Breech! and Spinning Babies website. Spinning Babies recommend rebozo and reflexology – something i can provide for you now. I attended a Breech birth workshop and I’m happy to share this knowledge with you if you wish to take this path.

There are different types of breech position, back to back or unstable lie…

Your hospital will be able to offer you an ECV – NHS info here: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/pregnancy-and-baby/breech-birth/
If your baby is in a breech position at 36 weeks, you’ll usually be offered an external cephalic version (ECV). This is when a healthcare professional, such as an obstetrician, tries to turn the baby into a head-down position by applying pressure on your abdomen. It’s a safe procedure, although it can be a bit uncomfortable. Around 50% of breech babies can be turned using ECV, allowing a vaginal birth.

Do reserach this and ask women how they found it. 50% of ECV’s still end in a c-section, some babies do turn back too.

Rebozo is simply a Mexican muslin cloth.

If you decide to do something different, natural and gentle, but effective, you can book in with me for an hour £50.
I give foot reflexology (read more about it here) to give baby lots of energy, assess baby’s position through what i feel in your feet, then I spend about 15 minutes doing the rebozo with you. It’s gentle, effective and comfortable. Most women enjoy the lighter feeling as i use the cloth to support your bump!

What are the benefits of Rebozo for breech, transverse or back to back baby?
Sifting, or jiggling, the entire abdomen can relax tight ligaments and may help a baby rotate in pregnancy or labour more easily, and help a birthing woman relax into her labour. You can have rebozo at any stage of your pregnancy because it’s so gentle, but for birth from 37 weeks up to an including in labour. If your baby is sitting high / hasn’t dropped or turns into a different position, I’m happy to help.

How is the Rebozo Scarf used?
There are various labour positions such as kneeling, standing and leaning that the scarf can be wrapped around your bump and a gentle sifting (swaying) is given by the partner holding each end of the scarf. It is gentle and like you are trying to rock the baby to sleep with small movements.

Rebozo is normally combined with another therapy such as massage, reflexology or the induction workshop. I can give rebozo at any stage of pregnancy.

Rebozo sifting can take 15 to 30 minutes depending on what result we’re hoping to get. If your baby is in back to back position and you are in labour, I’m still happy to work with you. As a birth doula, i use my therapies as extensions of me and to make a positive difference whenever we might need them.
